NCDOE donates 900 pairs of school shoes

The Northern Cape Department of Education is heading the clarion call of our President Cyril Ramaphosa to bring change to the lives of our people. In the spirit of Thuma Mina all South Africans are encouraged to lend a helping hand to those in need. It starts with everyone to do your little bit in your community as we grow South Africa together.

The Thuma Mina programme of the Department was based on the needs we identified during the reopening of schools where deserving learners were identified in need of school shoes. We have earmarked 9 schools situated in Galeshewe and identified 100 learners per school.

The 9 schools that benefitted from the 900 pairs of school shoes are:

Dr EP Lekhela High School

Isago Primary School

Reneilwe Primary School

Zingisa Primary School

Boitumelo Special School

Masiza Primary School

Boitshoko Primary School

Emmang Mogo Primary School

Sol Plaatje Primary School

The MEC for Education, Ms Martha Bartlett was accompanied by SA Idols star, Thato Makape who motivated and encouraged learners to remain focussed on their studies to ensure a better life and prosperity in South Africa.

As the Department we have committed ourself to the provision of quality public education in all our schools across the Province, and therefore believe that this gesture will contribute immensely towards this ideal.

End.
