Passing of the late MEC of Education: Mac Jack
The Northern Cape Department of Education mourns the untimely passing of the late MEC of Education: Mac Jack. His death has rattled the inner soul of the education fraternity in the Province and the country
He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment towards the improvement of the education system. It was always his belief that our schools are a mirror reflection of our communities and therefore always fostered to strengthen parental involvement in education of children. He's philosophical approach to education was that "Education is the systematic intervention of a parent in the life of a child towards adulthood".
MEC: Mac Jack was groomed within the ranks of the African National Congress (ANC) since a very early age as a formidable leader. He occupied a number of high level positions within the ANC and Government during his lifespan at District and Provincial level. His commitment towards the upliftment of all our people served as his compass throughout his life.
He was also a loving and caring family man to his wife, children and grandchildren. Throughout his busy schedule, he made sure to dedicate sufficient time to his family as they were his support basis he could always rely on. There is no doubt, that their loss is our loss.
Indeed a gigantic leader in politics and government has departed this world and has been called for higher service. He will be sorely missed by everyone he came in touched with or that knew him. He was a true gentleman in his actions and words.
We convey our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the entire Jack family during this difficult time as they come to terms with the sad reality. We will forever remain grateful for the sacrifices he has made towards the Northern Cape and all its people.
REST IN ETERNAL PEACE
