2018 Provincial Teaching Awards

The Northern Cape Department of Education recognised and acknowledge excellence in Education last night during the 2018 Provincial Teaching Awards held in Kimberley at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre.

"The Provincial Teaching Awards is a culmination of a rigorous process that commenced in each of our Districts, adjudication and elimination processes that lead us to tonight. Tonight, all of you are here as Provincial Finalist, which already is a remarkable achievement. You are already a winner!

Your achievement shows that despite the “times of challenges and controversy” we face in our education system; our schools continue to have a cadre of torch-bearers, tirelessly working hard to deliver quality teaching. Better education is sorely needed by the young and this beautiful country of ours that is in dire need of development.

I thank the teachers we honour today and the many more great teachers out there who quietly devote their lives to inspiring our children. You change lives every day, and make the world a better place. One learner at a time, one day at a time", said MEC Bartlett.
