Second Chance Matric Programme
The Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga, officially launched the Second Chance Matric Programme which is aimed at offering young people who failed to meet the NSC requirements a second chance to obtain their formal matric qualification, in 2016.
The programme is now in its fourth year of implementation and registration for the 2019 afternoon classes is now open at the eight (8) identified centres in the Northern Cape. Afternoon classes will commence on Monday, 18 February 2019.
The Second Chance Matric Programme aims to assist the following category of learners:
Modulated learners (learners who complete their National Senior Certificate over 18 months)
Supplementary candidates
Amended Senior Certificate candidates (Old Matric)
full-time candidates who passed the examination but want to improve their results
