YOUNG GIRLS IN SCIENCE ANDTECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE 

 

The Northern Cape Department of Education in partnership with the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists launched a one day Women and Girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM ) Conference in Vuyolwethu High School, Kimberley today. 

 

A total of 80 girl learners from 8 Kimberley region schools convened for this conference. 

 

The main purpose of this exciting conference is to empower and entice young girl learners to pursue careers within the STEM subjects.

 

Since its inception (Expo) there has been growth in the number of girl learners choosing STEM subjects.

 

This conference will be rolled out in the Kalahari and Namakwa regions respectively in the near future.
